Shipping and Return Policy

Please note we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes or Military APOs.
For large and heavy truck freight shipments, we don't deliver to Hawaii and Alaska.
Shipping Rates
Shipping and handling charges vary depending on the size and weight of your order. Shipping charges are calculated automatically when you check out.

Order Tracking
Email order confirmation is sent after you place your order. Please email us if you would like to track your order, and we will provide a tracking number. 

Small Parcel Shipments - Whenever possible we will ship smaller, lighter items via UPS or FedEx Ground.
We ship in-stock items the next day after receipt of your order. Depending on your location, your item will arrive in one to six business days from ship date.
Custom Indexes are shipped 10 working days after receipt of order (ARO) and proof approval.
Custom Filebacks are shipped 15 working days (ARO) and proof approval..
Custom Folders are shipped 25 - 35 working days after receipt of order.

Large and Heavy Truck Freight Shipments - We use truck freight carriers for products too large and heavy small parcel shipments. Truck freight shipments usually take between 3 and 10 days from when your order ships from our facility. Trucking companies make standard deliveries between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Truck shipments are tailgate/dock/curbside delivery only. This means the driver will bring the item to the rear of the truck but is not required to assist you in unloading or bringing the merchandise inside your facility. Curbside delivery means it is the responsibility of the customer who is receiving the shipment to have the means to unload by (fork lift or loading dock).  It is the customer’s responsibility to transport the product(s) from the truck to the inside of your facility or home.

Advanced Filing Systems is not responsible if the product cannot be unloaded off the truck. If the driver or customer cannot unload the product it will be brought back to the shipping depot. The customer is responsible for arranging for a 2nd delivery attempt and will be charged accordingly. Please note if you operate your business out of a residential address you will be charged for the additional costs of delivering to a residential address. Residential delivery may not be available in some areas. For residential deliveries, you will be contacted for an appointment as soon as your order arrives at the local terminal. For commercial deliveries, no appointment will be made. If you need to make an appointment, please contact the truck freight carrier after receiving your tracking number from Advanced Filing Systems. Your order will be delivered to your loading dock, driveway or curb outside of the delivery address provided on your order.

Additional Truck Freight Services - When your merchandise leaves our warehouse, we will email you the tracking information. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to arrange for any additional services that you would like. You will be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for these additional services. Some truck freight companies offer additional services to help move merchandise from the truck into your facility or home. Services may include:

  • Trucks with lift gates for facilities and homes without a receiving dock
  • Scheduled deliveries (usually within a 2-4 hour time window)
  • Liftgate Service
  • Inside delivery
  • Unpacking and debris removal

Back Orders (except Shelving Products and File Carts)
Although our we maintain high levels of stock, it is possible we will be out of stock when you place your order.
If an item is unavailable when you place your order, we put the affected item in Back Order status until the we can ship the product, normally within 10 business days.
After 10 business days, the customer can cancel the order without retribution, or continue to wait for shipment.
If you ordered multiple items, and part of the items are out of stock, we will ship all in stock items and Back Order only the out of stock items.

Inspect your order
Please inspect your order for damage at the time of delivery.

  • If part of the shipment is missing or damage is apparent, please refuse the shipment and write, "Product Shortage" or “Product Damaged” clearly on the sheet the delivery agent asks you to sign. Failure of customer to mark the delivery agent’s sheet for shortage or damage will result in forfeiture of any product replacement. 
  • If you discover damage subsequent to the delivery, call or email us immediately. Do not discard the shipping materials and packaging for your order. Items not in their original packaging are not returnable for refunds or replacements.
  • After you refuse the shipment call or email us so we can plan to replace your merchandise and handle the damage claim. We replace damaged product only after its received back at the original point of shipment.
  • Damaged goods are customer's responsibility if we are not notified within 5 business days of original delivery to customer's location.
